“Conspiracy Theorist”: Just Another PC Thoughtcrime Label

conspiracy reginald.jpgNot all situations labelled ‘conspiracy theories’ are wild fantasies. Sometimes they are actually ‘conspiracies’ and turn out to be fact.

Not all people who express a shocking opinion you disagree with, are ‘loons’, or members of the ‘tin-foil hat brigade’. Sometimes they are simply better informed and/or more open-minded than the person using flippant labels to disparage them.

This is a comment meant for all, but especially the people who are quick to play the ‘conspiracy theorist loon’ card. In fact – if someone accuses you of this – send them this link.  Who knows – it may make them reconsider their position (unlikely), or at the very least, they may self-censor when they feel compelled to blurt out this accusation on impulse.

First of all – let’s examine the definition:

conspiracy theory definition.jpg

Quite simple really. Nothing to feel ashamed of, nothing to repel you, nothing to inspire instant dislike or ridicule.  Yet in the hands of the Government (and primarily Leftists who perpetuate it) – the two words joined together become a powerful Politically Correct ‘thoughtcrime’ label – on par with Islamophobe, racist, Little Englander, xenophobe and all the rest.  This is the Leftist control and manipulation of language that George Orwell warned about in his classic “1984”:

“But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.”

and another one:

“During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.”

orwell thought control quote

They have simply corrupted and co-opted language – to make a phrase mean something entirely different from what it should mean.  This then becomes a powerful tool to denigrate anyone who is essentially just a critical thinker who does not believe the mainstream narrative / official story – whether they have a theory to explain it or not is irrelevant.  They still get labelled ‘conspiracy theorist’.  A prime example is the critics of 9/11.  Despite a group of 2500 Engineers and Architects joining together to question the lies of the US Government, and using their expertise to prove that it is based on lies – these people offer no conclusive ‘theory’ on why 9/11 was an inside job.  They simply point out factual inaccuracies and discrepancies and demand that 9/11 be investigated again.  After all, it was investigated under duress, and the US Government set a budget for the enquiry far far less than the budget for investigating Bill Clinton’s ‘exploits’.

The phrase conspiracy theorist now simply means – tin-foil hat, loon, nutcase, stupid – pick your poison.  It is designed as an ad hominem attack on anyone who disagrees with a particular explanation (usually that which is put forth by those in power – the media, government, big business etc).  It implies someone is crazy, or has some irrational and baseless paranoia, or is quite possibly mentally unbalanced and potentially in a dangerous way.

So if this language is co-opted for slander – what term would you use that is not offensive, to replace it’s original (logical) meaning?  if you are stumped, you begin to see the power of labels and how dangerous the ‘control of language’ can be.

“Its a beautiful thing, the destruction of words…”

George Orwell, “1984”

People play this card for a variety of reasons:

(a) to use against anyone whom they simply disagree with as an alternative to addressing the substance of what that person is saying (i.e., ‘argumentum ad hominem‘)

(b) they have an agenda to discredit that person and their opinion, by attacking them – thereby hoping to put other people off giving credence to what they say – and as a form of intimidation so that people are unlikely to repeat it for fear of the label

(c) are simply blinkered and unwilling to entertain an alternative viewpoint or admit that – sometimes – other people may know more than they do! Such people are often sheeple, or intellectually very lazy, and repeat what they hear from the mainstream as ‘gospel’, assuming anything that is not mainstream is unreliable. Such people are slaves to the Appeal to Authority logical fallacy: i.e., they treat academics, media, and government as the sole arbiters of truth, and dismiss private opinions, alt media, blogs etc as somehow dirty or unworthy or credence – by default wrong if it runs counter to ‘official narrative’.

(NB: The numbers in brackets relate to reference material at the bottom of this post.)

“CONSPIRACY THEORIST” – WHERE IT CAME FROM

The whole concept of ‘conspiracy theory’ is in fact a psych warfare tool created by the CIA (#3) – to discredit any theory that the press, private individuals, or anyone who is a THREAT to the establishment (whoever they may be).  In essence it is a weaponised term (#4) to control and censor critical thinkers or anyone who questions the ‘mainstream narrative’. The CIA, under the Nixon Government, co-opted a normal term and turned it into a weapon of slander and ridicule, to stop investigations into scandals such as the JFK assassination, Watergate and other Government ACTUAL CONSPIRACIES, now long-since proven.

conspiracy theorist warren report.jpeg

This comes from the document “Countering Criticism of the Warren Report” – a more legible, full version is available here (#12)

This is proven by information released under Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests. The idea is to ridicule the theory, often by amplifying or distorting it to make it even more ridiculous, rather than discuss based on factual evidence. By doing so, they hoped to SHAME people into not entertaining such ideas, due to social stigma – and to therefore silence debate.

For example – in response to a ‘theory’ – the other person responds with a “I suppose you believe the Moon landings were fake as well?”, or “where’s your tinfoil hat?” or echoing back the theory in an exaggerated way.

Another common tactic is to attack the original proponent of the theory, or the person stating it, as an ad hominem attack.  “You shouldn’t believe that, Mr X who told you is a conspiracy theorist.”

Another side benefit is that over time, this ‘conspiracy theory’ accusation becomes a quick and lazy smear that is an excuse for people not to engage their brain in anything beyond the superficial, beyond the message that is pushed by controlled media and politicians. It becomes almost a reflex action through social conditioning; precisely what was desired by the CIA. The sheeple lose scepticism, logic and independent thinking – all natural and necessary for survival – in favour of passive acceptance of ‘The Narrative’.

In effect, the accuser is often guilty of laziness and a reluctance to engage their brain – and using the slur ‘conspiracy theorist’ simply gives them subconscious justification. For once they utter this slur, they excuse themselves from expending any further mental effort on the subject.

It is therefore a tool of social control, just like PC – “Political Correctness” (#11), which is another weapon of the Left and in fact code for Cultural Marxist thought control (#9), a fact that a former CIA intelligence analyst says is actively being used to centralise control (#10). It is part of a wider spectrum of thought control being used to manipulate the masses (#5) – video also plays below without needing to change windows:

CONSPIRACY THEORY – A TOOL TO DISCREDIT DISSENTING OPINION

Using the slander ‘conspiracy theory’ and talking about ‘tinfoil hats’ and then using exotic examples (like giant lizard men living under the Eiffel tower), and exaggerating or distorting other people’s views, in order to make them even more unbelievable and outlandish – is a favourite tool of the political Left (#1) (although anyone with something to hide still uses this ploy reflexively; the Left have simply perfected it and use it consciously).

It boils down to the use of the ‘Psychology of Ridicule’ as a weapon.

alinskys-rules-for-radicalsRidicule is one of the Left’s most potent weapons – a fact outlined in one of their favourite political ‘playbook’ of dirty tricks: Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules for Radicals’ Rule No.5 “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” (#2). It goes on to theorise how to implement this to silence and destroy political adversaries. Ridicule is often combined with ad hominem and strawman arguments (Rule No.12 etc).

Interestingly, Barrack Hussein Obama taught the Alinsky method (#7) and went to an Alinsky school (#8). Hillary Clinton actually did her thesis on his works and holds him up as her idol – a thesis she tried to use the Courts to suppress, but can be found online (well worth a read – PDF available for download) (#6). If you want to read it, download it because any site that seems to link to it, is eventually forced to remove the link.

Why? Because the typical Leftist is taught to avoid addressing the actual argument – Rule No.2! This is why trolls on comment sections never actually debate the subject – they engage in ridicule, deflection, ad hominems, straw man arguments, and other Leftist dirty tricks.

RECOGNISING THE MOTIVE OF ACCUSERS

Think twice before you use the term ‘conspiracy theory’, or when you hear others use it. What are the motives? Is it conscious or subconscious?

alinsky ridicule quote

Is the person using the phrase actually a victim of the social conditioning, one who simply trots out this phrase without thinking – whenever they encounter ANY view that is outside of the narrative which the mainstream media and popular culture push on us? This is lazy thinking, but people have been programmed to think this way – this is part of the plan. Or do they have another agenda? Usually a troll, or simply someone with a dogmatic point of view (a common trait of the Political Left) – who refuses to engage in logical debate – a form of self-deception to avoid challenging their own preconceptions.

Finally – I would urge people to use the Scientific Method – rather than join in with the crowd, quick to shoot down anything they have never heard before (nor researched themselves). At its most simplistic level, applying the scientific method means to remove your ego and preconceptions, and entertain all possibilities with an open mind, but with scepticism and detachment. Then form a considered view based on the balance of evidence and information from varying points of view. It’s that simple, yet we are being trained ti NOT take this approach; labels like ‘conspiracy theorist’ are designed to force us to be CONFORMISTS to whatever narrative the media and / or those in authority wish us to believe.

Passive acceptance of the State and Media as the sole arbiters of ‘truth’ and ‘honesty’, combined with a dumbed-down populace taught to react predictably on emotional stimuli ahead of reason and logic – is a recipe for a steady decline into totalitarianism. An informed, rational public who actively look out for conspiracies, and are aware of power and its corrupting influences and are therefore natural sceptical of those in authority – THAT is the answer.  Essentially, that is a firewall to protect a free society.

When looking at something that is not the official ‘story, and you feel yourself reacting with incredulity and scorn – STOP! – question your own responses, and step back from emotional reactions, which will serve only to cloud your judgement.  This exact emotional reaction is how we are literally being trained to behave: a society that can be made to react on emotional stimuli is a society that can be controlled and directed by those above – this is not conspiracy theory but merely an observable psychological fact proven by Pavlov, Skinner and many other behavioural psychologists.

Research differing opinions and facts and come to your OWN conclusions. Keep an open mind!

Very well said! A great post! I will have to share this with others. Thanks!

    • Thanks, the ‘conspiracy theorist’ PC thoughtcrime label is one of the most annoying and ingrained in people. It’s incredible how effective it is even on seemingly intelligent and well educated people. It’s like a trained ‘repulsion’ reflex.

I wrote this article because I used to write a lot on comment sections and it was time consuming explaining to people why their conspiracy theorist label was simply illogical and lazy thought processes. So now I simply send them to this page.

By the way had a look around your blog, looks good, hope to have a good read over the weekend. Might reblog some stuff you are welcome to do likewise if you want to copy paste this article onto yours.

      • I have dealt with this too. I get called a conspiracy theorist all the time. I just tell people I do research and critical thinking. But people are so dumbed down they can’t see what’s right in their faces. The elite even tell you their plans in films and television shows and people still don’t see it. It gets really frustrating but I do my best to get the truth out there. The government is already trying to put restricting on YouTube and the internet in general. I’m not even sure how long we will have “freedom” on the internet. We are becoming more like China everyday. I’m glad you like my blog. I do my best to find good information to wake people up. Thanks for the heads up on reblogging. I will definetly be following your blog and sharing your information.

        • Agree with all of that. We have a window now, like you say, until the Globalists take over the Internet completely. Moves afoot from many angles; it’s clear it’s their weakest point. I always tell people the biggest miscalculation he elites made, was when they allowed the Internet to be open source Wild West from the start. They didn’t anticipate its power or potential or the speed it would dominate society. It’s their Achilles heel and we have a few years before they slap on the armour plating.

          Keep in touch!

        • Yeah you’re right. We have to take advantage of it while we still can. I really feel the internet is last helpful tool. Once they shut that down…how do you communicate with others? How do you share information if they shut off our phones??No one is asking these questions. This is a major concern for me. It would totally be a police state. Which is why they stage these events in the first place.
